We purchased our park model and have been busy changing things and getting it arranged to suit us. So far the weather has been pretty good except for one overnight when we woke up to -17.5c. which was pretty cold. After discovering that our water had frozen I went outside to investigate and found that something had nibbled at the insulation around the water line. So out came the hair dryer and I slowly defrosted it and then re wrapped it with insulation.

As for some of the changes we have made, the hedging outside our living room windows have now been removed and we have installed cedar fencing which gives us a better view of the river. As you can see above. We did start to stain the lattice top but stopped as we are not sure if we like the color.
We have also installed the deck along with Susan's new garden box, but we have yet to put the railing up as we have not decided yet how we are going to do it, so we used some pieces of the old fence as a temporary railing.

Here are a couple of pictures after the dump of snow we received, it was about 3 inches. As you can see it is quite picturesque.

Now that the snow has all gone we can now finish off organising the shed and shop so we can start unpacking our storage trailer. That is going to be fun as there are boxes packed up in it that have been packed for 10 years. More about that in the next blog update.
Thats all for now so until next time safe travels and keep warm.

OK, so it has been almost a year since we last posted. A lot has changed since then and I am going to explain what has been going on in our lives.
As you all know we bought a lot at SunKatchers in Keremeos which we just love, and now it is time for change. No we are not leaving SunKatchers, just moooving on up to another lot with a Park Model already on it. Whilst we were south last winter Susan explained that she was done with living in a motor home and I agreed, so we decided to look for a park model. First we started looking at putting a unit on our present lot which was feasable but we really wanted a lot facing the river.
We have been very lucky in selling the motor home and our present lot to a nice lady from Mission who wants to start doing what we have been doing for the past 10 years. After agreeing with her to buy our lot we negotiated with a couple in the park that have been trying to sell their park model facing the river. So on October 1st we become the proud owners of a park model facing the river. Our address will not change just the lot number, but so there is no confusion the complete address is as follows.

#107-4155 Highway 3 West

Last but not least a view towards the river from where our deck will be.

So now you all know what is happening with us as far as living accomadation goes.

As we have sold the motor home we will not be going south this year at least not for 6 months, but we will probably go south for a month or so maybe around February.

Thats about it from here, so take care all of you and even though we are not travelling this year please stay in touch. You are always welcome to come and visit as we still have hook-ups for you.

Gaia & Rob's Wedding Day 10.10.2010

On this date Gaia & Rob were married in Kelowna BC.
The happy occasion took place at Gelatley Regional Park which is on Okanagon Lake.
The weather was chilly but bright and the sun came out at the right time. There were many family and friends present to witness this happy occasion.
The weekend started with a meet & greet at the couples suite at the Cove Resort Hotel on Saturday evening. The wonderful food that Colin, the Best man and his partner Rita had helped to prepare was enjoyed by all, and there was not a drop of bad wine to be had.
The ceremony which took place the folowing day was informal and moving with family and friend's interacting within the ceremony.

Whilst the happy couple were off getting pictures taken the guest's moved to the reception which started out at Quail's Gate Winery. There we were all treated to canape's and champagne which was really nice. After the couple arrived more pictures were taken with family and friends using the winery slopes as background.
After all the pictures had been taken and talking was done we returned to the hotel where they had prepared a wonderful BBQ for all their guests.
We are of course not prejudiced but the bride was the most beautiful we have seen and the groom the most handsome.
It was wonderful to see Susan & Heinz again as well as meeting Rob's brothers and other members of his family. We hope to see them all again in the near future, and feel very fortunate to have them as part of our family.
It was the BEST Thanksgiving we have ever had!!

At our new place in Keremeos we have done some additions to give Susan more gardening space and also giving our sun-room more shade.
We left home on the 25th October as we saw SNOW on the mountains. Stopped overnight the first night in Omak Washington at the casino. Next morning we started our drive heading towards Pendelton Oregon. On the way we stopped and picked up some apples at 20cents a pound. We reached Pendelton and stopped at the casino which is a great place to stop.
After a rather good nights sleep we started off the next morning and finished our day after a good days drive in Jerome which is in Idaho. The driving through Boise was rather nerve racking with all the road construction going on but we got through it. This night we stayed at the Walmart which was fine.
Next morning it was on to Nevada area. We checked our info books and decided on a rest area just before Overton, but just before the rest area we noticed some people parking in a Wild Life Refuge. So we decided to stay at the rest area and the next morning we drove back 6 miles to the Refuge and drove through it. Well it was beautiful so we decided to stay a few days. We were parked right next to the lake where we could watch the birds and the other wildlife. We were also able to ride our bikes around the lake which we did a couple of times. This place was really amazing, the camping spots were large and it was FREE so we stayed for 5 days. However a funny thing happened whilst we were there. We were sitting in the MH when there was a knock on the door, so we opened the door and low and behold the 2 people standing there were Terry & Wayne Bevington from our park in Keremeos.
After our stay at the Refuge we moved onto Overton for and overnight where we saw Wayne & Terry once again. Did some laundry and grocery shopping before moving on.

Next stop was Las Vegas Bay State Park where we decided we would stay for 4 nights. Whilst here we visited the Hoover Dam which is very impressive. As you can see in the picture's, they built a new bridge to go over the dam after 911. That was the bridge we drove over to continue our journey. VERY impressive.
So after staying for 5 nights, we extended by 1 night as it became very windy we left Las Vegas Bay and headed for Wickenburg which is in Arizona. Hooray warm and sunny. We boondocked in Wickenburg on Vulture Mine Road for 3 days which is not bad.
After leaving VM Road we travelled down to Casa Grande where we have been staying with some good friend's Ken & Joanne Parson's at their house in Arizona City. After a great week with them we are leaving this morning and heading for Green Valley and Tucson and Benson for a while before heading to Yuma.
Until next time.

So here we are in the Sooke Basin on Vancouver Island. The weather is great but the fishing really is slow, but it will pick up soon. We hear that the salmon are moving down the coast.
Susan is on the East coast in Nova Scotia enjoying her visit with our good friend's Anne & Peter. She will be there until the end of the month. We will be staying here in Sooke until the end of the month also.
So it has been 9 months since we last posted and a lot has happened in our lives since then. The last post was when we were in Utah with Tim & Jan and what a great time we had. The scenery is fabulous and should never be missed if you ever have the opportunity to visit. Here are some pictures of Capitol Reef area.

From Utah we headed for Benson and the SKP park as we had volunteered to be their "security" in the storage area. We arrived at the park and set up in the storage area. This was home for 4 months, and we were not sure about being in the same place for that period of time. However the winter went well except for the cold and the wind and the rain. But as usual there were enough of our good American and Canadian friends to keep us occupied and busy. There was always something going on in the park and the lot owners always made the time and effort to include us.
We left Benson early March as we had to be home in BC no later than the 23rd. as that would be when our 180 days were up.
After we arrived back in BC we drove up to Keremeos to look at our potential 'new' home. It is located in a park based on the Escapee's parks and that suits us.
After all was said and done we decided to purchase, so we did. We moved onto our 'new home lot' at the beginning of June after I had gone prawn and halibut fishing, which by the way was a success as usual.
So here we are up in Keremeos in the southern Okanagan enjoying our new home in the "heat".

As you can see above we have a really nice lot which we are happy with.

Since we have been here we have had a few visitors which has been very enjoyable.

Our next adventure begins on Tuesday July 20th when Susan flies to Nova Scotia to visit a close friend and I am going fishing with a close friend. Neither of us will return before August 30th which means we are gone for about 6 weeks.

We have now been in Bryce Canyon at over 8000 feet for a couple of days and seen some amazing scenery as the pictures will show. These pictures were taken when we went on a 2.5 mile hike going down into the canyon 400 feet.

We were just about exhausted after the climb up but we did it. This morning we had hail stones which left a nice white covering on the ground.

Tomorrow (Wed) we are heading to Zion where we hope to take more pictures and post them.

So here we are again at last to continue. After a month on Tan we returned to the mainland as we had a very busy summer ahead of us. Dave and Les went fishing for 3 weeks and returned with our bounty.

Then we left for Calgary on our way to Regina Saskatchewan as my son Jason was graduating from the RCMP Boot Camp on the 24th August.

We spent a week in Calgary with Gaia & Rob and did lots of visiting and eating. Then we drove to Regina where we stayed for 5 days to witness the graduation ceremony. Wow what a moving experience that was. The troop that Jason graduated with gave us a fantastic display of marching, just like the RCMP Musical ride only with out the horses. The Badge presentation and the signing of the agreement I found the most moving of all. We were very proud of him, and he looked just great in his Red Serge uniform. He has now returned to BC and is stationed in Langley, so if you are driving through Langley watch out for him.

After we left Regina we took a long drive around Saskatchewan stopping in Swift Current to visit with our good friend Frank. Then we stopped over in Calgary again for a couple of nights before returning to Chilliwack where Susan's son John was getting married on the 19th September.

The wedding went off without a hitch and we must say the bride was stunning. This was the first time we can remember where all of Susan's family was together since we got married in 2000.

It was good to see them all as well as the grandmas, and a good time was had by all.V>

Top Picture is the Grandma's. Middle picture is the family. Bottom picture of course John and Ursula aka Mr & Mrs John Marsden
R>

On the September 22nd we crossed the border to start our winter travels. The first night we stopped at a Forest service campgroung in Tumwater Wa. The next day we travelled on and stayed in the Walmart in Pendelton Oregon where we shopped and turned it into the most expensive campsite of all. Next morning we started out for La Grande Oregon where our friends Ken & Joanne Parsons have a farm. They were great hosts and our thanks go out to them for their generosity.

September 26th we started on our way again saying goodbye to Ken & Joanne. Not sure where we were headed for the night but we did know we were heading to Thayne Wyoming where Tim & Jan were. We stayed overnight in a tiny camping spot just east of Givens Hotsprings. Great little parking spot overlooking the Snake River. Next morning we headed for Pocatello where we stopped at Walmart again, then it was on to Thayne.

We arrived at the park in Thayne on the 28th and the weather was great. Tim & Jan were happy to see us. After 2 nights we woke up to about an inch of snow on the ground and cold. This did not deter us as we knew it would not last long.

Tim & Jan took us on some wonderful drives through the Teton's. The fall colours were wonderful, just like Vermont when we were there.

We left the park with Tim & Jan on October 3rd as they were expecting some really bad weather, so we headed south. We stayed overnight at Cabellas in Salt Lake City for a couple of nights and then headed for Diamond Canyon over the mountains. The campground was empty so we had the pick of sites. Boy did we get good views from our sites. One morning there were 6 cowboys rounding up the cattle. We had never seen that before.

On the Saturday October 10th we drove on to San Rafeal Swell for a few days. Boy what agreat camping spot we have. Tim & Jan have taken us on a couple of wonderful 4 wheel drive where the views and the mountains have been spectacular. Thanks Tim & Jan.

Tomorrow October 14th we are heading for Goblin Valley and then onto Capitol Reef State Park. So we are still in Utah but having a great time.

Untill next time, take care and stay safe. We love you all.

Hi Once again. A lot has happened in our lives since the last blog. Susan had to return to Canada for a family emergency and then I flew to England to attend my moms funeral. However all is well now.

After I returned to Phoenix from England my buddy Dave flew down from BC and we drove the MH back. Had a couple of problems but nothing major.

We spent the next 3 months helping with the new born and family. Lovely to have a grandaughter we can spoil as well as the grandsons.

We are back on Tan Island for a month and returning to the mainland early July to see a specialist about my knee problem.

These pictures are from Tan Island. #1 Susan helping to build the greenhouse. #2 Les doing the same. #3 Les is cooking oysters.

Will update in a couple of months as I am going fishing in July.

Well here we are back on the Blog. Susan has been on at me enough.

We are at Roosevelt Lake which is north east of Phoenix and enjoying the sunshine. Today Wednesday Susan has been wearing shorts and Tim & Jan have been paddeling on the lake.

We have had problems with the computer ie. IT CRASHED BIG TIME so now we have a nice new one. Wow what a difference. Congratulations to us as we now have a new GRANDAUGHTER, well done Patrick & Becky. A nice addition to Sean the big brother. She was born January 25th weighing in at 5lbs 12oz and 5 weeks early. All is well and picture above.

The pictures here are of our front and back yard at Roosevelt lake. We will be staying here until the end of February

OK so I know I have been remise, but Susan has nagged me enough.

We left Benson on the 14th January and headed for Roosevelt Lake. We arrived at the lake after a rather nice relaxing drive around 3.30pm. We set up and had " happy hour ".

The weather is rather nice and we have a great view of the lake. The campground is a Forest Service Campground and has only toilets and water which is fine by us. However the site's are great. The cost is only $6 a night so we are staying at least 14 nights.

We have taken a drive to a town called Young which was rather interesting and only accesible by a road that is sometimes gravel. The scenery was "fantastic" to say the least, with snow on the side of the road at times.

We have been on several 4x4 drives with our friends Tim & Jan and had just a great time.

The weather did change for the worse and we have now had a lot of rain and the lake has risen from 60% full to 87% full which is rather a lot. The off roads have become rather muddy so we are now staying on pavement.

We have driven the " Apache Trail " which is a gravel road over the mountains to Phoenix. We did this with Tim & Jan and spent a good time at the Woodcarvers Show there.

On the 30th January we left with Tim & Jan to go to the Gourd Festival in Casa Grande. We left Roosevelt Lake and spent the night at Apache Gold Casino which is about 2 hours from the lake. We were hoping to do laundry there but er no I dont think so.

Next morning we left for Casa Grande and the fairgrounds. On arrival we checked in and set up. Weather was ok and we parked away from everyone else as we usually do. Well during the weekend of the festival it rained on the Sunday and boy did it rain. We went shopping on the Monday and on the return decided to move to the front on the blacktop. On the Tuesday Tim & Jan left to return to Roosevelt Lake and we decided to stay for another couple of days so we could visit with our good friends Rose & Ken.

On Wednesday the February the 6th we left Casa Grande and headed back to Roosevelt Lake where we would meet up with Tim & Jan again.

We are still at the lake but Tim & Jan have left to go skiing in New Mexico. The weather here now has improved and the sun has been shining thank god. We are going to stay here for a few more days before heading out to our home park for a couple of weeks near Sierra Vista. From there we may go down to Nogales Mexico for the day, or just 'veg out'.

Hi to you all. We are still in Benson Arizona, where the weather for the last few days has been REALLY cold. The other night we Froze all our water lines but did not burst any thank goodness.

So now what have we been doing since the last update. Well we have been remodelling our motorhome inside. We have put in a new floor and removed the dining booth. As you will see by the pictures it looks much better giving us more room. We really enjoyed doing this project and of course appreciated the help from our good friend Tim. He actually designed the layout. For Thanksgiving we joined others in the clubhouse and just stuffed our faces with turkey and all the trimmings. What a great meal that was. The ladies from each table supplied the food.

Our Christmas was good also. We joined about 250 other people from the park in the clubhouse. We had 22 people at our table and the food that was supplied by the ladies of each table was fantastic. We all went home to our rigs ready for a nap. On Christmas morning we called all of our kids and grandkids and had enjoyable conversations with them all.

For New Years we are going back up to the clubhouse where we will enjoy fun and games no doubt. Plus we get snacks as part of the event. Looking forward to that tomorrow night. Other than the remods we have not been doing too much. Oh forgot to mention that Susan had to go to the dentist in Tucson. She had an appsiss (not sure if the spelling is correct) and had 2 teeth removed. She is ok now and has decided to use the dentist down here instead of the one at home as she like him. So more work to do next year. I was hoping to get a flat screen TV but now Susan say's that we are walking on it and she eat's with it.

Well thats what we have been up to. We would like to Wish you ALL a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. May all your wishes and dreams come true and may 2008 be a HEALTHY one for ALL.

Take care all and stay safe and warm. We love you all.

So here we are in sunny Benson Arizona after a great summer. After leaving Calgary and the snow we crossed the border at Sweetgrass Montana and headed south. The driving through Montana and Wyoming is just beautiful. The roads are great and there is not really that much traffic. As we crossed the state line into Colorado we could see smoke in the distance. Then we realised it must be coming from California. That night when we stopped in Moab Utah we tuned the radio and sure enough that was where it was coming from. We were planning on stopping in Moab for a couple of days, but you could really not see much with the smoke.

Next morning we got up had breakfast and continued on south. We finished up in Flagstaff Arizona, staying at the Walmart even though there were signs saying 'No overnight camping". Susan did go in and check with Walmart and they said it was ok. That night was really cold. The past 3 nights we had had frost but this night was the coldest. We left Flagstaff and headed towards Phoenix. The road was quite busy but we just continued our drive around 60mph, with everyone zooming past us. As we approached Phoenix the traffic really built up and became rather busy. After managing the traffic through Phoenix we got onto I10 and headed East towards Tucson. As you approach Tucson about 10 miles west the road work begins. They are in the process of widening the highway to 4 lanes. This road work goes on for about 15 miles. Pain in the you know what, but will be great when its finished.

We arrived at the SKP park around 4pm and were escorted to our lot. We did not manage to get one of our usual lots, but we are moving on Wednesday to a lot on the front row which is where we like to be. The weather has been just fabulous. The sun shines and we have been up in the 80's just about every day. Of course Tim & Jan are here and Mike & Betty are arriving next week. The only couple we are waiting for are Jacques & Louise who are in Texas right now visiting some friends. We hope they will be here for thanksgiving later this month.

The pictures above consist of Susan with her latest grandson Sean who lives in Canmore Alberta with his mom & dad Becky & Patrick, and 2 pictures of the sunset tonight Saturday November 10th.

Thats about it for now, so take care everyone until next time.

So here we are back on-line at last. It has been quite a while since the last post and for that we apologize. We have had the Motorhome in for repairs and have been off-line ever since, after trying some used equipment and then just going back to our own that we know works.

So to catch up with what has been happening, here we go.

We left California and headed north. Arriving back in Mission in time for the wedding on the 24th March. The wedding was just great and was enjoyed by all.

For the next month we just packed boxes and got ready for our move to Tan. On the 15th May we took the Motorhome in for repairs caused by the tire blowout back in October. As the repairs were being done we asked that they check out the slideout as we thought it had dropped on one side. They called us a couple of days later to tell us that we needed a new floor on the slideout at a cost of $4500. After getting over the shock we told them to go ahead. Well a couple of days passed and we needed some things out of the MH so we called and asked if it was possible for us to come and get them. They said it was ok, and so went drove over and on arrival they said the MH was ready. I of course called their bluff, but know it was ready to go. The was not a new floor required just some adjustments as it had not been installed properly during manufacturing.

The best part was it was only going to cost $1500. We now have the MH back and it s in storage.

After all of this was done we rented a van to take all our stuff up to Tan Island. This is an island that a friend of ours owns and she asked us if we would like to spend our summers up there in a little house that her son had built. We of course said yes so we took her up on her offer. The only way to the island is by boat so everything had to be unloaded from the van into a boat and then from the boat up to the house. This took us about a week as I had to have the van back in Abbotsford a week later. So a week later I drove the van back to Vancouver stayed for a couple of days and then returned to Tan driving the Suzuki full up with even more stuff.

During all of this moving etc. I took a fishing trip with my buddy Dave to try and get some halibut and prawns. We drove to the west coast of Vancouver Island and set up camp with 4 other guys. Now these guys had done this before cause the way they set up was just great. They set up a tarp tent that consisted of their sleeping area and the dining area, as well as a wood stove. We were gone for about a week and returned with some halibut and about 800 prawns.
Great fishing trip.

So now we are residing on Tan Island for our summers. There are some pictures of our view from our little house on this post.

Top picture. View looking North.

Second picture. The road to our house.

Third picture. View looking East.

Bottom picture. View looking South.

We have been working away at getting the house organised and we have installed solar panels on the roof together with an inverter and a small generator. Everything is working just fine and we have all the power we need. We also have satellite tv as well as our internet. Now the internet was another story. It took me 3 weeks of trying every possible position on the roof on the deck everywhere but I just could not get a signal. We finally decided to return the used sat. dish complete with lnb to the guy we purchased it from. But before we did this we had to confirm that it was the equipment and not me or something else. So we packed it all into the car and returned to the mainland. We set up our equipment from the motorhome and got online in no time at all. Now we had to set up the used equipment which I did. Tracked in the satellite but could not get online. This confirmed to me that there was something wrong with the used equipment. So we packed up all the satellite equipment and returned to Tan, dropping off the used stuff on the way, bearing in mind that each trip to and from the mainland is an all day trip including 3 ferries. Back on Tan I was up and running within the hour.

That's what has been happening with us up till now. We have just finished lunch of homemade Clam Chowder both red and white which Susan made from scratch using fresh clams from Mansons Landing and fresh vegetables from the garden. Delicious.

Thanks Joyce & Jeremy for all you are doing for us, we love you.

Until next time. Susan & Les

Tomorrow we are leaving FoY and heading north to BC. We have enjoyed our winter travels as usual but they are far too short.

On Sunday afternoon we were invited to a BBQ at our friends which was attended by about 40 people. These were people from all walks of life and all retired. A good time was had by all with good food including Salmon from Prince Rupert BC. Above are a couple of pictures taken at the BBQ. Please note that we all had sunglasses on as the temperature was around 90 degrees F.

We will be driving with our friends Jim & Joyce and going up the Interstate #5 which is the most direct from here.

When we arrive in BC we will be parked in our usual place, so if you pass by drop in and say Hi and visit a while.

Top picture is Jimmy, Joyce's husband.

Middle picture is Susan on the right talking with friends.

Bottom picture is Joyce enjoying a drink with Trevor the host of the BBQ.

We are still at FOY enjoying the sunshine. The temperatures have been on the rise and today we are climbing up to around 90 deg. This coming weekend the temps are supposed to reach 97 deg. Yes that's correct, 97 deg. F.

Whilst we have been here we have managed to catch up on a few jobs that needed our attention, as well as re-organise ready for our departure for home.

We have enjoyed the company of many nice people as well as attending a few parties which we have enjoyed.

Yesterday Susan & I took a day into Palm Springs to do some shopping. This was to be our last trip into the big city, so we made sure we did all the thrift store's we could. Yes Susan managed to purchase more clothes etc. But that's ok.

We will be leaving FOY and heading for BC next Wednesday the 14th with Jim & Joyce. The trip will take us about 5 days so that means we should be home around the 19th. Not really looking forward to the drive as the weather further north is not as good as it is here. Also the weather in BC is VERY wet and chilly, but we must return. Our time is up in the US.

That's about it from down here, so as usual we say, stay safe and keep warm we love you all.

Susan & Les

Joe relaxing after dinner under the Palm Tree

So we have been at FOY now for nearly a week. The weather has been very acceptable but sometimes very windy. Our friends George & Maureen from BC that have been visiting with us here left this morning to continue on with their travel adventure. Being newbies and we understand they just want to keep on the move. We have had a very enjoyable week visiting with the 'English' that were still here when we arrived but they left yesterday. Susan & I are wondering if it was us or ???. George and Maureen have spent time using the pools and hot tubs much to their enjoyment, and so they should. On Sunday night all four of us went down and played shuffleboard in the games room. Susan & Maureen vs George & Les. After lots of fun and ribbing each other I must have to say, well the girls won. Yesterday we all went down and played Boccie Ball. Now that was a lot of fun. Once again boy's vs girls. The first game went pretty quick with the boy's winning by a long shot. The second game was quite a bit different and the girls really came on strong. But to no avail, the boy's won both games.

As the English were leaving on Monday morning Joyce our friend who lives here at FOY for the winter put on a splendid supper on Saturday night. We had roast turkey with all the trimmings and wonderful vegetables. Lots of food and lots to drink. A good time was had by all.

We are going to spend the next couple of days doing jobs around the rig and re-organising stuff ready for our return to BC. We should be back in BC around the 15th - 20th of March as we have a wedding to attend. We wont say who it is but why would anyone get married in March so we have to cut our winter jaunt short, and so that everyone can freeze their butts off. Don't worry Ni---- & M--- we will be there. Only pulling your leg. That's about it from here for now. We hope you all enjoy this new way of reading about our travels. I must admit I am enjoying doing it this way.

Stay safe and keep warm. We love you all.
Today Saturday we took our friends George & Maureen for a ride in our Suzuki. On our drive along a back road and because the weather was so hot we came across a RATTLESNAKE. Luckily enough George had his camera with him and took the picture that you can see. It was not a very big one but big enough. Probably about 30 inches long.

Here we are now in Yuma for a week after attending the Gourd Festival in Casa Grande and the RV2WAYSAT Rally in Gila Bend. We had a great time in Casa Grande with Susan & Jan looking at various ways to carve and paint gourds. The 2waysat rally was very interesting. There was about 100 satellite dishes set up and there were lots of interesting seminars. Yuma is nice and warm and sunny and we are here to get a few things done before moving onto The Fountain of Youth in Niland California.

Susan,Les and Gaia at FOY.

Our Christmas in FOY was great. We had a lot of fun with the 'English'. After New Year we set out to the Anza Borrego Desert to camp for a few days. We took Gaia sightseeing and she enjoyed every bit of it. We drove her to Palm Springs on the 4th January as she had to return to Calgary. On the 6th the 'English' came out as they had never camped out in the desert before. We had lots of fun and laughs around the campfire at night. The following Thursday we drove to Quartzsite so they could see what happens to a town of 3000 when all the RV's arrive. They could not believe their eyes. There were rigs and people as far as their eys to see. The really enjoyed their stay in Quartzsite. They all returned to FOY the following Tuesday. We stayed with one of the couples as they had front wheel bearing problems and were waiting for new bearings to arrive from the UK. Their bearings arrived the following Monday and they were thankful for that. After the bearings were replaced they headed back to FOY and we headed to the East side of Q to join the BOOMERS. After a few days of visiting and catching up with the news with people we had not seen for a while we headed to Tucson. We were going to meet up with another friend who had flown in from Winnipeg. We spent 3 days in Tucson and then headed to Casa Grande where Susan is going to Gourd Carving classes. The weather in Casa Grande has finally warmed up. Today Sunday it is going into the mid 70's which is about time. When we leave Casa Grande on Wednesday the 7th we are heading for Gila Bend so I can attend an RV2WAYSAT Rally. We will be there for 4 days and then heading to Yuma.

Picture's above: top :-ready to carve the turkey at FOY.

second :-Susan & Gaia at Fonts Point Anza Borrego State Park.

third :-Gaia,Susan and Les.

lower:-Susan,Les and Gaia at FOY.

Thats the update for now. Until the next time, stay safe and warm. Susan & Les

We are still in Benson but will be leaving on the 15th. We are then heading for Niland California for Christmas with friends at the Fountain of Youth. Before reaching Niland we will be spending about a week in Yuma as we have a couple of things to do and get done. Whilst in Niland there will be 5 rigs coming from England. Two of them have been here before and we all had a blast. We are really looking forward to meet up with them again.
Susan's daughter Gaia is flying down from Calgary on the 24th to spend about 10 days with us. That should be a lot of fun.
Thats it from now, so have a great Christmas everyone.

This is our first post. We are in Benson Arizona at the SKP Park. We will be staying in the area until December 15th when we will be leaving for Yuma. We will stay in the Yuma area for about a week before heading for the Fountain of Youth in Niland California. There we will spend Christmas with our friends and 5 other Motorhomes from the UK. Our daughter Gaia is coming down from Calgary Alberta to spend Christmas with us. After Christmas we will be heading out into the desert, taking the 5 rigs from the UK and spending some time out there boondocking.
